I hope you’re here because you’re ready to

begin reading and working through

A Year to Change!  This is the week you

take inventory before we get started!

If you want to make positive change in 2014,

come and join us. It’s going to be fun and

life-changing, in a good way!

Making Change

How hard is it to change?

I mean, really, how hard is it?

Helping people to make change happen

is my business, so I’m going to tell you.

I’m not going to lie.  It’s not easy.

Creatures of Habit

Humans are creatures of habit.

We just do what we have always done,

even when we don’t like it, don’t enjoy it,

it’s not healthy for us, and we ought to

do something else. Why on earth are

we like this?  Why is it so hard to change?!

Because It’s Work!

It’s hard to change because it requires

learning something new, doing something

different, reminding ourselves probably on

a daily basis for awhile to do things in a

different way…and that’s WORK!

(Our brains think doing anything slightly

differently from habit is work!)

And no one works unless they have to.

(Or they’re going to get paid for it.)

You’ll Be Rewarded

I can tell you that if you’re willing to make

one small change each week, learn one small

thing that will make a difference in your life,

and take the time to learn new habits, you will

be rewarded.  No, I can’t send you a check!

I wish I could, though…it’d be a great incentive

to get things going!  Can you see the headline?

“Psychologist pays people to

make positive change!”

I Can’t Put A Price Tag On It

You’ll be rewarded with more moments of joy,

improved self-esteem, happier relationships and

friendships, feelings of contentment and peace,

better physical and mental health.  All those things

that we say we “can’t put a price tag on.”

So, if you’re willing to put in a little bit of what is

called “sweat equity,” you’re going to get out of

this year way more than you put into it.

Maybe for the first time!
